Following some personnel changes Jon has returned to the solo cornet bench of Guernsey Concert Brass. The next concert is a repeat of the very successful Norman Ten Hundred, remembering the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Cambrai, where the RGLI served with distinction.
This weekend just passed I visited Jersey along with a number from L’Islet Corps for the visit of the ISB. Below is a video of the band marching through St Helier on the Saturday. It was a fantastic weekend of music and worship. On Saturday the ISB marched through St Helier. The reception from the
Jon has transferred from Bb Bass and has joined the percussion section of GCB. This follows stepping down as Bandmaster at The Salvation Army where he now plays Cornet.
Jon has decided to step down as Bandmaster at L’Islet Salvation Army in order to concentrate on his family. He and his wife Sarah are expecting their first child in November. He will continue to play cornet in the band. If you would like to read more visit his blog here.

On Sunday we tried something different at The Salvation Army in Guernsey. Instead of our usual traditional service we tried a new relaxed format. This included worship lead by the worship group, bible teaching, and time for small group discussions. We also had an opportunity to share thoughts and things that had been discussed in
Jon will be taking rehearsals of the Guernsey Concert Brass band on Monday 15 and 22 October. Primarily music in preparation for their annual Christmas Concert will be rehearsed.
